How to Backup your Website

This article describes how to backup your hosted websiteThe backup process is run from your website CPanel dashboard. Login to your dashboard using the following URL https://www.yourwebsite.tld/cpanel There are a number of components of your webhosting space that you can backup
You also have the choice to do a full or partial backup. If you are doing a backup prior to running updates of your website software platform such as WordPress then a home directory and database backup is all that you need do. BACKUPS ICON This will give you the opportunity to run a full backup or backup each component individually. Running a Full Backup
The system will now generate a full backup of your website environment and will email you when it has been completed. If you chose HOME Directory as the backup destination then the backup file will be stored in the top level of your hosting space and you can copy this to your local computer using your FTP client. The file is in this format backup-5.21.2015_13-38-40_mwren.tar.gz WARNING: You cannot restore full backups through the system's interface.
Running a Partial Backup
Each database, email forwarder and email filter must be downloaded individually
BACKUP WIZARD ICON Here you also have the option to run a full or partial backup. This wizard process does not really do anything more than the normal Backups option. A Full backup will run the same as outlined above A Partial backp will run the same as outlined above
