Webmail access with SSL Certificates
Posted by Tony W Howden on 18 March 2013 11:36 AM

For WrenMaxwell hosted sites access to webmail based email is provided as a service. Review the article on WebMail access.

When using your web browser to access the email for the first time you may be prompted for a security certificate or SSL certificate.

Typically this certificate will match a server within the WrenMaxwell domain like mail3.wrenmaxwell.com.au

When your web browser prompts for the certificate as being an error it will be because your email domain name is being hosted on a WrenMaxwell server and does not match exactly with your own domain.

You can verify that you are connected to the correct server by checking the validation of the certificate.

It should match to mailX.wrenmaxwell.com.au where the X is a numeric value.  The example here is for mail3.wrenmaxwell.net.au but our servers have recently been updated to use either mailX.wrenmaxwell.com.au or mailX.wrenmaxwell.net.au

If the certificate says that it is a signed certificate (which it should do!) then you can safely install or use that connection.
